How to become an innovator -innovation design - a common mans guide -introduction

This Series of post aims at introducing the art of innovation, how great minds became innovators and  inventors.  Here mainly I put forward few thoughts on my approaches to everyday problem solving through innovation to invention. I have used the name innovation design because problem solving, innovation invention have something in common that can be repeatedly used to bring up results using the same methodology, which I call a design. This was how great minds were successful in doing multiple discoveries and inventions. That is they were using some methodology to perfect something they had in their mind through paper to discovery/invention. Not only inventors but all successful people have an approach  which help them repeatedly succeed in their respective profession/business.

So why am I interested in innovation design. If you check the history of progress of the world you can see all revolved around certain discoveries and inventions. So what if we can replicate the success designs of successful people? we can increase the rate of progress of world tremendously. Which means that if now 1 in 100000 person is a scientist we could bring down this to 1 in every hundred people or even lesser. this short post should enable each and every person to solve their everyday problem in an ingenious way thus becoming an inventor of sort, not only that they will be able to solve their problems but they will also be able to come up with unique solutions that perfectly fits their requirement and achieve success each and every time.

In earlier days what made such a big tremendous impact of discoveries was that there was no restrictions of use. for example take the case of "wheels". The importance of wheels is that it made transportation easier, that means they could move goods and people faster than before. The propagation of technology was very fast since there was no restriction. but now due to IPR restrictions only few have access to an invention and speed of propagation is much slower. If you check history of human race you can see that discoveries took place in almost parallel manner at different parts of the world, but not anymore so.

Common types of inventions are
1) issue based inventions.
2) theoretical inventions.
3) theory implementation i.e. applying theories into practice or their practical usage.
4) observation based inventions.
Among these 1 and 4 contributes to the majority of inventions while 2 and 3 are indirect contributors and mix-ups. That's is a theory implemented in multiple forms, while implementing itself they make additional observation or identify issues which leads to new discoveries/inventions.

In this series we will discuss various approaches which leads to inventions.
1) a day to day observation brings to light an issue or a better system.
2)identifying an issue that needs a resolution.
3) identifying root cause of the issue.
4) identifying different solutions including  new systems
5) identifying benefits of solution(s), which include long term benefits.
6) identifying the life of target systems, benefactors and solutions
7) choose best among issue resolution/new system based on 4, 5, 6.

to be continued....
